In an effort to reduce or eliminate environmental pollution and improve the quality of human health the European Union (EU) has adopted Directive RoHS 2003/11/EC and RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC which will restrict the use of the following hazardous substance for electronic equipment effective July 1, 2006: Lead Cadmium Mercury Hexavalent Chromium Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE) Unicorp has been striving to manufacture electronic component hardware that is in RoHS compliance. The following raw materials are currently in RoHS compliance: Brass Nylon Steel Teflon® Stainless Steel Phenolic Ultem® Delrin® Lexan® Halar ® Tefzel ® Polyolefin Aluminum 2011-T3 Aluminum (6000 series for all Handles) All of our plating codes are RoHS compliant except for the following: F05 Cadmium Plate, Clear Chromate F05A Cadmium Plate, Commercial F06 Cadmium Plate, Gold Chromate F17A Hot Tin Dip F19A Electro Tin Solder 60/40 When ordering RoHS Aluminum for Standoffs, Spacers, Swage Standoffs, Male-Female Standoffs, Male-Male Standoffs, Captive Screws, Captive Retainers and Thumbscrews add an R before the material code number. *All Unicorp Aluminum Handles have always been RoHS Compliant, no need to add an R to the part number. Example: P521-R-MO6-F16-632 (RoHS Aluminum-Compliant) Example: P521-MO6-F16-632 (Non-Compliant Aluminum Part Number) You can rest assured that Unicorp is concerned to transition these issues seamlessly so your order is delivered on time. DFARS Statement: (The Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement) http://www.acq.osd.mil/dpap/dars/dfars/index.htm A list of Metals below used by Unicorp in our manufacturing of electronic component hardware, as indicated by DFARS Clause 252.225-7014, Preference for Domestic Specialty Metals, Alternative 1, as classified in 225.7002-3 (b)(1).
